Was tested on 42PQ1000 (Saturn 4 based plasma) but should work on any LG LCD/PDP(plasma) TV too:

1. Connect PC via COM port or USB2COM (USBtoRS232) adapter into RS232 connector on the TV

2. Run terminal program on the PC (hyperterminal or putty for example)

3. Set following parameters for COM port: speed 9600, flow control: none. All other leave at the defaults.

4. In terminal enter: "ab 0 ff" and press "Enter". You should get following response "01 ok????x", where ???? is the Tool option number. Remember it or write on the piece of paper.

5. To activate USB media player enter: "ab 0 6" and press enter.

6. Switch off/on the TV. USB icon should appear in the main TV menu.

If anything goes wrong, just restore the Tool option number.

If your TV supports debug mode:

1. Press F9 to enable debug messages

2. Press F10 to enter to debug prompt

3. At the debug prompt type: call SUMODE_CreateEZAdjustWin

Alternatively you can run EZ-ADJUST via UI Remote control test menu in debug shell. To do that, at debug prompt type: exit, press ENTER, then press 'u', then press 'l', press ENTER.
